Back online... more or less

Just got back from taking Fleur to the sirport. Drove me car. Patted self on back acuz driving. Go me, innit?

That said, THANK YOU ALL! Thankyouthankyouthankyou for the kindness, understanding and hugs, all were much needed and utterly appreciated. You all, friends and acquaintances online, are a wonderful bunch of people and am all teary and warmed and SO glad I met you.

Me sister is so bloody intense it was a pleasure and hard work having her here with me. We do love each other, but it works better at a distance. Heh... She MADE me drive, which is very very good and also very very stressing. But what can you do? She and Angelique (French nan) were so effing close that intense Fleur truly needed to be made to break out of numb cataphract.

Made her see Hogfather which she hadn't seen as Sky France hadn't seen fit to broadcast it. It worked very well to distract her. What a truly lovely true-to-book thing that is. Also Sir David Jason can read the phone book and have me entranced. Fleur got the Yuki Eiri's STARESTARESTARETM at Teatime. I have the odd idea she's going to stalk the actor.

Also tried to push Gravitation on her. Worked too well, she's stolen my manga. Sometimes I find it SO easy to hate her. Oh well, will buy it.

I had started Firefly before nan died and it hadn't seemed too bad. Will start seeing it again soon and will let fly with Firefly (has any of you ever seen the Marx Brothers' Duck Soup?) at you all.

In conclusion,

THANK YOU!!!

Love you all and HUGZ all round.

(*HUGS*) Love you too. It's good to see you here again. :)

Gravitation? Ack! I knew there was something I forgot to order! ^_^;; Can I offer in my defence that I did remember to order Framley Parsonage and The Left Hand of Darkness?

has any of you ever seen the Marx Brothers' Duck Soup?

Amazingly enough, I have. =]

Remember the song Freedonia's Going to War? At a certain point it says something like:

What shall we do with Firefly if Firefly shall fly?

Firefly being Groucho's character name. Well, every time I type Firefly or think about seeing it... or see a bit of it, there's that song popping up in me head. Heehee...

It's good to be back in the saddle. Did I say saddle? Of course I meant back in service to my friends. *G*

And that was mangling Blackadder beyond all recognition. I am truly in an odd mood tonight.

Dahlin' don't you worry, I never seriously meant for you to buy the thing, it's pricey! Also, prolly not your cup o' tea, though it's very definitely mine. Expect to be bored to tears and also annoyed a lot with my Gravi musings. It's FULL of layers, blooddammit! One can never find the bottom one.

See you tomorrow when I'll make more sense, I hope.

HUGZ

(*laughs*) Ah, yes. I imagine that rather takes some of the frontier romance out of the opening credits... =]

I only remember bits and pieces of that movie, I must admit. What comes to mind immediately is "Mr Firefly, you must help us! We're in danger here!" "You should come over here, then! We're not in any danger here!" =]

Dahlin' don't you worry, I never seriously meant for you to buy the thing, it's pricey!

No, no, I have given my word as a gentleman and I shall deliver! =] Though I admit that I was planning on buying it one volume at the time, so as not to strain my budget too much. It's surprisingly tricky to be a gentleman without having lots of money, whereas (judging from how many Rich Bastards behave) it seems to be very easy to have lots of money without being a gentleman. =]

But seriously, your musings tend to be interesting and I'd hate to not know the context. :)

Making sense is optional. I feel especially senseless right at the moment. I think I spent last week worrying so much about making a complete mess out of everything that now that it's over, I have collapsed into a zombie-like state where I'm good for little else than drinking coffee in bed. It's very odd, and I do hope it passes soon. If nothing else, sooner or later I have to get out and get more coffee. =]

I hope you manage to get some payback on the manga-swiper front; may I suggest a bit of tapioca in her bed? ~_^

If you're looking for an anime series to get into - or even if you're not, I think you'll enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist.
