When you re-read in book form (I mean in a collection form, possibly, but to me they are books now) a story you've read in monthly instalments, you certainly lose some of the awe and tension caused by the slow unfolding of the tale, but you gain in the intensity of your reaction to it.

ETA to add: The mixture of wisdom and folly, of humble arrogance - the worst kind, innit? - and courage and fear all centred in change as the pivot around which the mixture turns is what I called 'redeeming faults'.
