Right, no other possible way of expressing it.
Go read this. Am still gaping and actually gasping at it.
I knew there was a reason why I never felt right in giving FB and, yeah, that sounds meeeeeeaaaaan, man, but...
Look, reviews started all that insanity. People know they can't talk to authors of published books, the smart one talk with the books, the other kind - well, no, that was uncalled for, better say the cynics and the naives - the naives write and hope their letter will be read. Not so in fanficland, you write and you know the author will read you and possibly reply... only if said author don't get that many reviews, that is.
I fell for it, WAH, I did. I wrote to Maya and she 'graciously' (poor maya, she weren't like that at the beginning, now, were she?) replied. Then I said something she din't like about her 'Mione and I was huffed off. Actually never imagined she considered me anything but a sort of in-depth reviewer, so I weren't hurt as such. BUT I were reminded of me place, I were.
Stupid me for actually trying to talk to authors. I talk with her fics all the time and it don't bother me none. So what I learned from this horror saga is: NEVER REVIEW. If no-one ever reviewed and fanfic authors'd have to be content with hit numbers, there'd be no BNFs or hysterical fangirling - what is that Heidi thinking of? Is she actually in LOVE with CC? Is she CC's sub? Fuck, it gives me the creepie screamie, to be honest - or sockpuppet mistress like MsScribe.
And
candrawest I hope you have my comment on your very needed and uplifting post- am sincere - also congrats for the test. I can show you how to cheat to get the character you want, though. I got Draco no probbos. :-D
candrawest you are right. No reviews, they feed the tiny egos of some net sociopaths. Private emails to real friends and nothing more from me.
